NotnReceived / Not delivered / Expired means that the message has been sent to thenrecipient but did not reach their phone since one of the following hasnhappened:
nnnna) The handset was experiencing antemporary connectivity problem at the time of sending.
nnnnb) The subscriber is unknown to thennetwork / the phone number does not exist.
nnnnc) The line exists but isndisconnected.
nnnnd) The device has been closed for anlong time (more than 24 hours).
nnnne) The device is Kosher and thus isnclocked to receiving messages.
nnnnWhen a phone number is unreachable, nthe network retries sending the message to it. The amount of times and lengthnof lapses between each attempt depends on the network. When sending bulknamounts the common practice is to retry for 24 hours. After the retrial windownhas passed, the message will usually not be delivered.
nnnnTo avoid sending messages tonexpired numbers, a common practice is to clean the sending lists from expirednnumbers every occasionally. This can be easily done by exporting all expirednnumbers from the Detailed Message Report and uploading them as optouts. Carefuln– when uploading optouts ensure you only upload Expired numbers and not numbersnthat do receive your messages and wish to continue receiving them.
